Now this wedding I am really pleased to bring you as originally the couple didn’t want any of their shots posted. That was until they saw their album. Now just in-case they agreed to it whilst in the euphoria of seeing there lovely pictures in a beautiful Queensberry album. I decided to wait six months and ask again before blogging it. When I asked again I was met with the typical Amiee response “I said you could”! Now the thing you have to love about Amiee is she says it just how she sees it (as only someone with a Yorkshire man as a father can).
I met Aimee and Mark in the early part of 2011 at a Wedding Fayre in Dartford. I asked them if they wanted a quote and they wasn’t over interested. Which happens often as you can sometime feel like your in a merry-go-round of people trying to sell you something and everyone appearing fake. Some of us are generally nice guys. What broke the ice with Mark and Amiee was the fact that I asked there opinion on the baby push-chair they were using for there little boy Robert. As I wanted to know as my wife Rachel was quite pregnant at the time and we where in the push-chair baby nightmare i.e. not having a clue and us being on our own merry-go-round. So in the end they took a quote for their big day.
Two weeks later I sent a follow up email as I quite often do after I’ve given out a quote. Aimee actually responded in typical Aimee style “Firstly I thought you were quite expensive, then I shopped around and considering the quality of your work I realised you are not” or words to that affect and that she would let me know.
Time passed and I heard no more from Aimee. Now considering Amiee and Mark helped me decided which Pram/ Pushchair to get. It was a very strange coincidence that Aimee actually rang me whilst Rachel was in labour and left a message on my mobile, During a break in the labour and before you all have ago at me. Rachel told me to. I actually called Amiee back. Now if memory serves me correctly Amiee told me off for calling her. But we did arrange to meet the following weekend.
My son Eli was a week old when I went and saw Aimee and Mark. Now trying to be as professional as possible with regard to their needs on their wedding day, talk soon turned to babies. Now Rachel and I had been parents for 7days. Eli wasn’t feeding at all well. The midwives where less than helpful. Lets not even mention the doctors. Now due to Eli being a rather large baby he needed formula from birth. But as I’ve said we couldn’t get him to have enough. He would fall asleep on the bottle with 3/4 of the amount left. We were stressed. I told Mark this and he calmly looked at me and said “get a bigger teat size, then he will finish the bottle”. And he was right. I think its fair to say that I hit it off with these two. They booked me for their wedding that week.
We quickly followed up that meeting with a pre-wedding shoot. Which was shot at Mark’s Mum & Step Fathers house.
And then came their big day.
I popped into Mark’s to take a few quick shots of him and the best man. Then met Aimee at the venue. The venue was a lovely little place in Maidstone, Kent. Now the preparation was going smoothly, but Aimee was getting a bit stressed as the tables in the marque hadn’t been set and was informed that they would be set up at a certain time which is the time she was actually getting married. Which in its self wouldn’t be a issue but during their vows Aime & Mark would have had a direct view of people setting up the room for their reception. And some other stuff which would be a bit unsettling for any bride and quite frankly is not something they should have to think about. At one point the bridesmaid and I where nearly setting the tables ourselves. Thankfully though everything came together.
Aimee and Mark had a lovely touching ceremony and enjoyed the rest of their day, which they shared with there beautiful little boy Robert a.k.a Bertie. This couple really know how to enjoy each others company. For the first time at a wedding I saw a bride and groom hula hoop. I might even post one of those pictures one of these days.
Until next time guys
